Justin Hurwitz, the American composer and screenwriter who had previously worked with Damien Chazelle on Whiplash.
He took the stage to collect his award for Best Original Score and then joined Benj Pasek and Justin Paul to collect the coveted Best Song award for “City of Stars.”
Song that in the film is performed by Ryan Gossling and Emma Stone.
At the gala, John Legend gave a masterful performance of “City of Stars” and “Audition,” two of the most iconic songs from the Original Soundtrack.
