Emerging at the height of Britpop, Placebo stood out for the stark contrast they presented to the prevailing cultural climate. While much of the British guitar music of the era leaned toward youthful nostalgia and national identity, Placebo’s debut offered something far more provocative and transgressive: sexuality, androgyny, addiction, and alienation, delivered with a level of honesty rare in the commercial rock of the time. Thirty years later, with *RE:CREATED*, the band presents reworked versions of the original album’s ten tracks, plus two bonus tracks from the original release. These new recordings amplify the urgency and attitude that made the originals resonate so powerfully, while also reflecting the band’s growth and experience in the years since their debut.
